self SEAL…..

is a Propylene Glycol water soluble tyre sealant which when installed in a tyre will give full protection against air loss for the entire legal life of a tyre and will eradicate the following:

self SEAL has a revolutionary water based formula that enables the product to remain fluid at all times, thus enabling the product to immediately seal a puncture wound made by a puncturing object from within. Up to 6mm diameter in a car tyre and a puncture wound made by puncturing object of up to 12mm in a commercial vehicle tyre (in the tread area of the tyre), without loss of air pressure.

As a result self SEAL gives the advantage of longer tyre life together with lower downtime and maintenance costs.

self SEAL is designed to keep the recycled rubber tyre particles in constant suspension.

FAQ

How does it seal a hole in the tread of a tyre?
It lays down a thin protective coating between the inside tread of the tyre and the air within the tyre. When an object penetrates the tread area, the air pressure within the tyre forces the sealant into the puncture wound, where the tiny rubber particles seal the leak.

How does it prevent porosity, bead and slow air leaks?
The air pressure within the tyre forces the sealant towards any weak point. As it travels ahead of the air, it locates and seals any potential leakage area, thus ensuring no loss of air pressure.

Must a tyre be run after a penetrating object has been removed?
Yes. Although it has covered the area left by the cavity, it has not entered it. Therefore the tyre must be run in order to snap open the cavity and allowit to enter. Once again, the vehicle must be driven after the removal of any object.

Will it seal a puncture in the sidewall of a tyre?
No. It may seal the puncture temporarily and get the driver back to safety, but will slowly lose air as the structural integrity of the tyre has been compromised.

Will the sealant create a hard plug in the tread area of a tyre?
No. It is designed to flex with the tyre as it moves.

Will it dry out and ball-up in a tyre?
No. Because the tyre is a sealed chamber, no evaporation of the liquid can occur and it will remain in the same condition it was in when it was inserted into the tyre.

Does it react chemically within a tyre?
No. the sealant is chemically inert.

Is it affected by extreme temperatures?
It can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -70°C to +350°C. The sealant will remain in stable condition until heat so extreme, the tyre itself will disintegrate.

Can it be installed into tractor tyres that contain water?
No. The product is water soluble and therefore disperses when it comes into contact with the water.

Will it rust the rim / or steel belts of a tyre?
No. It actually contains anti-corrosive agents to prevent corrosion from occurring.

Does it give a guarantee?
Yes. 100% tubeless tyre guarantee seals punctures in the tread area up to 6mm in 4-8 ply tyres, and 12mm for 10ply+ tyres for the entire working life of the tyre.

What can be expected after it is installed?
The tyre is sealed to prevent any future air loss. It seals slow air leaks and any porosity or bead leaks, it eliminates punctures, maintains correct air pressure, prevents overheating and extends the life of your tyre.

What type of tyres can be installed with this sealant?
You can use it in any pneumatic tyre.

FAQ

Must a tyre be run after a penetrating object has been removed?
Yes. Although it has covered the area left by the cavity, it has not entered it. Therefore the tyre must be run in order to snap open the cavity and allow it to enter. Once again, the vehicle must be driven after the removal of any object.

Can it block up the valve stem whilst it is being inserted?
Yes. Should this happen, remove the pump nozzle and allow a short blast of air to clear the blockage. Reattach nozzle and continue. (On rare occasions, pumping too fast may cause the rubber granules to block the valve stem).

What is the difference between other products sold in aerosol cans?
Aerosol products are a temporary quick fix after the puncture has occurred. They break down inside the tyre causing serious safety concerns with imbalance and are highly toxic. In comparison, this is a high quality prevent active product that does not break down inside the tyre and is non toxic.

Is it flammable?
No.

Is it toxic?
No. It is environmentally friendly.

Does it affect the tyre manufacturer’s warranty?
No. As it does not react with the tyre components, it cannot affect the manufacturer’s warranty.

Can it be installed into used tyres?
Yes.

Can it be installed into retreads?
Yes. Retread ability is actually increased and tread separation is minimized.

What is the shelf life of the sealant?
If container is kept sealed, out of direct sunlight and maintained in a temperate space, it will last indefinitely.

Can tubed tyres be installed with it?
Yes. However, we are unable to 100% guarantee it’s success as the age and quality of the tube is unknown. Fortunately, 85% of all tubed tyres installed with it to date have been successful. Our tube sealant is available on request.

How much pressure can be pumped against using the hand pump?
You can pump against pressures of up to 70 psi.

How much sealant is expelled with a full stroke of the hand pump?
The hand pump delivers 100 ml. with every full up or down stroke.

What is the difference between this and other tyre sealants?
It is environmentally friendly, will not break down at high speed. It conditions tyres, has excellent cooling capabilities and also contains corrosive inhibitors. It will outlast the life of a tyre.

Can it cause a balancing problem?
No. If all tyres are correctly balanced prior to installation on smaller passenger vehicles, there will be no issue.

How much sealant can be installed into a tyre?
There are precise measurements to be calculated for each specific tyre. Contact us directly.

Can I adjust the pressure in my 4WD tyres after it has been installed?
Yes you can. It never comes into contact with the air valve after installation, so you can continue to adjust your pressures for the life of your tyres.
